Mistakes to avoid while cooking
Just as forgetting small things while cooking can ruin the taste of food, its nutritional value can also be lost. New cooks often make mistakes due to lack of experience. Learn tips.
- When boiling noodles, it is often seen that they melt, or remain too hard. Whether it is noodles or pasta, the taste is lost when they melt. Add a little salt to it while boiling, especially in the case of pasta. After boiling noodles or pasta, washing them in cold water and applying a light oil will keep them fresh.
- If you fry too many things in the pan while cooking quickly, they won't be cooked properly. Whatever you fry, don't fry too many at once.
- The oil needs to be properly heated while cooking. If the oil is not hot while frying, the aroma of the spices will not come out. Moreover, if the oil is not heated properly, the fish may get stuck in the pan. The same problem can happen with vegetables.
- It will be easier to cook if you know the cooking method in advance. Sometimes vegetables are overcooked, sometimes they are raw. It is important to know which vegetables are better to cook by lightly steaming them. Excessive heat during cooking can destroy the nutritional value of the food. Therefore, it is helpful to have an idea in advance about how long to cook something.
- If you are a little careless while boiling milk, the pot can overflow. If you apply a little oil around the pot, you will get rid of this problem. However, the milk should not be heated too high. It should be kept on medium heat.
- Be it meat or curry, cover it after cooking. You need to give the broth time to infuse the flavor into the meat or curry. Covering it for at least 20-30 minutes after cooking will make the food taste better.
- When you cook lentils in a pressure cooker, the lid gets stained with the dal water. Everything around gets dirty. Which is also very difficult to clean. One trick can be very effective in this case. Keep a small steel bowl while boiling lentils in a pressure cooker. This will prevent the lentils from boiling and only air will come out of the cooker's whistle. The dal water will not come out. Also, before placing the pressure cooker with lentils, water, salt, turmeric and oil on the stove, add a few drops of oil to the bottom of the vent weight. Then place it on the stove on medium heat. This will also prevent the pressure cooker from overflowing.
