8 things to keep in mind before traveling during the monsoon season

1. Keep extra clothes with you. 

Even though a light rain can bring joy, you can end up with damp clothes. Because not all places have facilities to dry clothes. Also, drying clothes is quite difficult when it rains continuously. Therefore, it is important to keep a few extra sets of clothes. 

 

2. Not wearing thick fabric clothes

Heavy fabrics like cotton are not suitable for the rainy season. During the rainy season, you should choose clothes that dry quickly in the air. You can carry clothes made of silk, georgette, linen, viscose, half-silk or chiffon during this time. Instead of very light colors, give preference to dark colors in clothes. This will not make you feel wet easily. 

 

3. Keep the monsoon accessories with you.

Be sure to bring an umbrella and raincoat. This will allow you to travel to your favorite place with the rain as your companion. You can use waterproof sneakers or boots. 

4. Be sure to keep polythene in the bag. 

Be sure to carry polythene to protect your phone or camera from sudden rain. You can also take a large polythene to cover your backpack. If you have polythene, you can keep wet clothes separately in your suitcase. 

5. Keep clean water with you.

The incidence of water-borne diseases increases during the rainy season. In addition, clean water is not available everywhere. However, it is not possible to take too much water at once on a long journey. Therefore, you can buy mineral water instead of drinking outside water while traveling.  

6. Keep necessary medicines with you. 

Along with water-borne diseases, colds, fevers, colds, and coughs also occur during this time. So, keep fever, pain, or other necessary medicines with you. 

7. Be prepared to avoid mosquitoes and leeches.

During the monsoon, the mosquito problem increases drastically. In addition, there are a lot of mosquitoes in the hilly areas. You can keep an odorous lotion or spray to repel mosquitoes. Various types of roll-ons or perfumes are also available to repel mosquitoes. You can keep these too. If you go to the mountains and forests during the monsoon, keep salt with you to repel leeches. 

8. Caution is essential when going to mountains and waterfalls.

During the rainy season, mountain waterfalls become violent, and the current in mountain rivers increases. The mountains also become slippery. Caution is essential when traveling to mountains or waterfalls. Do not go too close to the waterfalls or enter the river. Wear trekking shoes if you want to go on mountain roads.
