What is Islam and why?

Islam is a complete way of life. The only way of salvation and guidance for mankind from Allah Almighty. Throughout the ages, Allah Almighty has sent countless prophets and messengers to the world to invite people to the path of Allah, that is, to invite them to Islam. The last prophet and messenger to bring the invitation to this religion was the last prophet and messenger Muhammad (peace be upon him). Islam was perfected during his lifetime and Allah Almighty determined Islam as a complete way of life.

Introduction to Islam

'Islam' is an Arabic word. From the verb 'اَلْإِسْلَامُ', it means 'to submit', 'to surrender', `Submission [to Allah]'. In terminology, 'Islam' means surrendering to Allah Almighty. A person who surrenders himself to Allah Almighty is called a 'Muslim'. That is, a person who does not act according to his own will and whims, obeys the commands and prohibitions of Allah Almighty at all times, tries to achieve the pleasure of Allah in every action and surrenders himself completely to Him is called a 'Muslim'.

Identity of religion or belief

The word religion has several meanings. After death, every person will be asked three questions. One of them is, ما دينك? 'What is your religion'? Here, religion means a way of life or religion. The path and method that we follow in our worldly life or on which our path is based is our religion. All religions in the world are different religions or ways of life .

Introduction to Islam in Hadith

In the Hadith, a historical hadith known as Jibril has introduced the identity of Islam. Once the Prophet (peace be upon him) was sitting in front of everyone. Then Jibril (peace be upon him) came in the guise of a human and asked the Prophet (peace be upon him) several questions. One of them was, what is 'Islam'? In response, the Prophet ( peace

be upon him) said - He said -

"Islam is that you worship Allah and do not associate anything with Him, and establish prayer, and pay the obligatory charity, and fast Ramadan." (Bukhari: 50) Here, five fundamental foundations of the identity of Islam are mentioned.

Islam is a complete religion (way of life).

In the Farewell Hajj sermon , the Prophet (peace and blessings of Allaah be upon him) was specifically inspired with the perfection of Islam as a religion. In this regard, Allaah the Almighty says,

“This day I have perfected your religion for you and completed My favour upon you and have chosen for you Islam as a religion.” (Al-Ma’idah: 3)

This Islam was perfected through the Prophet (peace and blessings of Allaah be upon him). It will remain steadfast, unaltered and steadfast until the Day of Judgement. And Allaah the Almighty has chosen Islam as a religion for the believers. Therefore, there is no room for anything new to be created, changed or expanded in Islam. And Islam will be considered a universal, life-affirming, and eternal religion until the Day of Judgment.

Islam is the only religion chosen by Allah.

The religion chosen and chosen by Allah Almighty for His servants is 'Islam'. Islam is the only way to salvation in this world and the Hereafter. In this regard, Allah Almighty says,

﴿إِنَّ ٱلدِّينَ عِندَ ٱللَّهِ ٱلإِسْلَٰمُۗ﴾

'Indeed, Islam is the only religion with Allah.' (Aal Imran: 19)

All doctrines other than Islam are invalid and unacceptable.

All religions, beliefs and doctrines other than Islam, which the Almighty Allah has ordained for mankind through the Prophet Muhammad (peace and blessings of Allah be upon him), are null and void. All paths and beliefs other than Islam are worthless to Allah. No matter how good a person's deeds are, they will not be accepted. And he will be a loser in the Hereafter. In this regard, Allah the Almighty says:

And whoever seeks a religion other than Islam, it will never be accepted from him, and in the Hereafter he will be among the losers.’ (Aal Imran: 85)

Islam means surrender.

A person who has surrendered to Islam or surrendered will be called a 'Muslim'. A Muslim will continue to surrender himself to Allah at all times. Throughout the ages, the Prophets and Messengers have preached the call to this universal religion 'Islam'. In the Holy Quran, it is said about Noah (peace be upon him), he said:

﴿وَأُمِرْتُ أَنْ اَكُونَ مِنَ ٱلْمُسلِمِينَ 72﴾

'And I have been commanded to be among the Muslims.' (Yunus: 71)

Allah Almighty commanded Abraham (peace be upon him) about Islam,

﴿أَسلِمْۖ قَالَ أَسلَمْتُ لِرَبِّ ٱلْعَٰلَمِينَ ٢٣١﴾

'You surrender,' he said, 'I have surrendered to the Lord of the Worlds.' (Baqarah: 131)

The command of Allah Almighty

In the Holy Quran , Allah Almighty has commanded the believers that no one should die except as a Muslim. In this regard, it is stated,

“O you who believe, fear Allah as He should be feared, and do not die except as Muslims.” (Aal Imran: 102)

The simplicity of Islam as a religion

Allah Almighty has chosen the complete way of life 'Islam' for the welfare of mankind and as a way to achieve His pleasure. The only pure, doubt-free and eternal divine way of life above all the religions of the world is 'Islam'. As a result, all the man-made religions of the world are defeated by Islam. Some religions existing in the world have become distorted, some religions are merely man-made, some religions are based on complete errors and irrational concepts. But the truth, excellence, greatness and beauty of Islam have surpassed everything. Islam has clear guidance on every matter related to human life. It has laws that are close to life and incomparable. Islam is a religion that is free from all kinds of problems and complications and is simpler. Allah the Almighty says, “Allah desires ease for you and He does not desire hardship for you.” (Al-Baqarah: 185)

A religion free from all kinds of narrow-mindedness

Islam is a complete religion that is liberal and humane. There is no place for any narrowness or excess in Islam . Allah the Almighty says,

“And He has not laid upon you in religion any hardship.” (Surah Al-Hajj: 78)

Muslims are a moderate nation.

The best path is a liberal and moderate one, free from all extremes. Allah Almighty has made this religion a moderate religion. And the followers of Islam are the moderate and witnessing nation of the Ummah. Allah Almighty says,

﴿وَكَذَٰلِكَ جَعَلْنَٰكُمْ أُمَّةٗ وَسَطًا لِّتَكُونُواْ شُهَدَاءَ عَلَى النَّاسِ وَيَكُونَ الرَّسُولُ عَلَيْكُمْ شَهِيدًاۗ ﴾

'And thus We have made you a moderate nation, that you may be witnesses over mankind and the Messenger may be a witness over you.' (Al-Baqarah: 143)

The followers of Islam are the best nation.

The followers of Islam, the Muslim nation , are undoubtedly the best nation on earth and their manifestation in the welfare of humanity. Regarding this, Allah the Almighty says,

“You are the best nation, raised up for mankind.” (Aal Imran: 110)

The religion of nature is Islam.

Allah Almighty has created this universe in His own way. He has arranged nature in His own way and left it in its own state. Nature's day and night, the sky and the air, the thousands of creatures on the earth, everything moves at its own pace. This nature has a fixed religion or its own 'ghadhatva'. And that is 'Islam'. All the material and living things of the world have surrendered to Allah or are on Islam. Even then, Allah Almighty condemns those who disbelieve and seek other ways than Islam, saying: “Do they seek other than the religion of Allah? And to Him submits whoever is in

the heavens and the earth, willingly or unwillingly, and to Him they will return.” (Aal Imran: 83)

Every newborn child is born on the religion of nature (Islam).

Islam is the religion of nature. Therefore, every newborn child is born on the Fitrah or religion of nature, that is, by nature, Islam. Later, due to their parents and surroundings, they are converted to different religions and beliefs. But in fact, everyone's journey begins with Islam. The Prophet (peace and blessings of Allah be upon him) said:"

Every newborn child is born on the Fitrah, then his parents make him a Jew, a Christian, or a pagan." (Bukhari: 1385)

The commentators of this hadith write that this proves that even if a child is left in a closed house or forest after birth, he will still be able to recognize his Lord when he reaches adulthood.

Recognition of modern science

A 10-year study led by Dr. Justin Barrett, a senior researcher at the University of Oxford's Centre for Anthropology and Mind, concluded that nothing is meaningless or meaningless to children. Even if they are left alone, they will understand that the world and its designs are all about reasons and that an intelligent being is behind these reasons.
