What should be the care and diet of a child during the intense heat of summer?

Parents are always worried about what their children should eat in the summer, what kind of food they should eat, and how to keep them healthy. My writing today is to give them some relief.

What baby food should be like in the scorching summer heat

Babies under 6 months should be given only breast milk as much as possible. Avoid artificial or bottled milk unless it is an absolute emergency. Children are more likely to suffer from diarrhea, indigestion, various skin diseases, colds and coughs, and pneumonia in summer . Therefore, children's food should be such that it does not transmit diseases.

Other things to keep in mind when preparing baby food in the summer are:

1) Children's food should be easy to digest. Therefore, soft cooked rice or porridge can be their common food. Vegetables cooked in less oil, spices/panchaforan, and watery vegetables like papaya, gourd, shrimp, cucumber, etc. can be given diluted fish broth.

2) Stale food, outside food, fried food should be avoided completely. You can give light nutritious food like soft thin khichuri with vegetables (with less oil and spices), vegetable soup, thin fish or meat broth. Also, you should avoid drinking water directly from the refrigerator.

3) Give as much fruit or fruit juice as you can. Give your child local fruits like coconut water, lemon juice, watermelon, papaya, jam, jamrul, etc. If your child is a little older, you can give him cucumber, carrot, lemon with his food. You can occasionally add yogurt and mashed banana to his food.

4) When drinking water, filter water should be given. Children should not drink open juice from outside.

5) Be careful when giving packaged foods, chips, cakes, chocolates, pickles, biscuits.

Special care for children in extreme heat

1) Children should be kept in a room where the temperature is a little lower. If there is AC, keep the temperature right so that the room does not get too cold.

2) Children feel better if they are bathed once or twice regularly. Children who sweat a lot should be wiped with a soft cotton cloth.

3) Make sure that the child is urinating properly, otherwise it may cause a urine infection. Make sure that the child drinks water during play or reading.

4) It is best to dress your baby in cotton clothes, as this will reduce the risk of rashes, skin diseases, and rashes on the body.

5) When sending your child outside or to school, you can apply sunscreen suitable for the child. Don't forget to provide an umbrella, handkerchief, and water bottle.

If you follow these tips, I hope your children will stay healthy even in the summer. That's all for today. Everyone stay well.
