Know these 7 tips before storing meat in the fridge

There are a few things to keep in mind before placing meat in the deep freezer. Because if not frozen properly, the flavor and quality of the meat is at risk. Know some important tips.
- A common mistake is to put large pieces of meat in the freezer at once. This not only freezes but also makes defrosting a hassle. The meat loses its flavor due to repeated soaking and defrosting. Put the amount of meat in one bag that you can defrost and cook immediately.
- Place the meat in a vacuum-sealer packet or Ziploc bag.
- Write the date clearly on the meat package. Beef or mutton stays good in the freezer for 4 to 6 months.
- Place the meat in the freezer as soon as possible after you get it home. Otherwise, harmful bacteria can grow.
- Make sure the freezer temperature is at zero degrees Fahrenheit. This will prevent large ice crystals from forming on the surface of the meat. Large ice crystals will cause the meat to dry out quickly.
- To prevent freezer burn, you can use an additional layer of thin plastic or foil paper in addition to the Ziploc bag.
- Do not open the refrigerator door frequently after storing meat. It is also important to close the door properly.
